Coffee drinks are often prepared by brewing hot water and sometimes by cold water along with ground coffee beans. However, there are many ways for brewing coffee like a drip, filter, french press, espresso, and by various other means as well. Each coffee variety has a different taste and aroma. It is known that the coffee/espresso is common with additives like hot or cold milk, frothed milk, steamed milk, creamed, and foam milk. To make the coffee tastier some add additional flavors or sweeteners, and alcoholic liqueurs. With the usage of machinery for brewing coffee, many coffee varieties have emerged.

Espresso is a concentrated form of coffee, that is most often served in small and strong shots. It has more amount of caffeine in it but small serving will reduce the caffeine. It can be made from a various variety of coffee beans and roasting methods.


Americano is made by diluting the espresso with hot water. However, it maintains a similar strength when compared to espresso but it has a different flavor.

Café Latte:

Latte has a profound history that it is made by the American soldiers during WWII to make the beverage last longer. Latte consists of a single shot of espresso and steamed milk.


Cappuccino is one of the most popular coffee in the world. It consists of three layers – a shot of espresso, shot of steamed milk, and frothed/foamed milk.


Mochaccino, which is popularly known as Mocha is just a latte topped with chocolate syrup/powder or sometimes topped with whipped cream.


Frappuccino is a trademarked coffee brand of the Starbucks Corporation. It consists of coffee or crème base, blended with ice and other various ingredients, usually topped with whipped cream and flavored syrups.


Arakuccino is the trademarked Indian coffee brand of Krish Food and Fun (India) Pvt Ltd. It is an organic coffee drink made from the hand-ground Araku Arabica coffee beans blended in espresso. It consists of one shot of espresso, steamed milk foam, Chocolate sauce, Nutella, and some crushed nuts. It is free of chicory.


Macchiato consists of a shot of espresso and it is topped with foamed milk directly into the cup. It is similar to a cappuccino but it is stronger as it is served in a smaller cup and steamed milk is not added to it.

Black Coffee:

Black coffee is simply a combination of hot water and coffee without any milk or other flavors. If we add any additives the color and aroma of the coffee will change.

Long Black:

Long Black coffee can be made by pouring hot water into a cup and 2 shots of espresso added to it. As it has 2 shots of espresso it will be quite strong and there is a creamy foam on top of the cup.

Instant Coffee:

Instant coffee is simple and easy to make. You just have to pour the desired amount of hot milk or water into the cup along with the coffee powder/crystal and stir it well. When compared with all the other coffee varieties it has a longer shelf life.

AeroPress Coffee:

To make an AeroPress coffee, you need an Aeropress device. It is simple to make coffee with this device. First, you need to place a paper/metal filter on the tube and pour the coffee in it in less than a minute and then press it through the filter with a plunger.

Vacuum Coffee:

Vacuum coffee is a traditional way of making coffee that is in practice for the last 2 centuries. It is made by using two vessels, the upper vessel contains the coffee powder and the lower vessel contains hot steaming water. The vacuum and the pressure from the heat will push the steam up and brew the coffee. After the heating stops, the coffee falls into the bottom vessel and it is ready for serving.

Cold Brew Coffee:

Cold brew coffee is very simple to prepare. You have to mix the ground coffee with cold water by stirring and place it in the fridge overnight. You can strain the mixture to extract the coffee, You can serve it as you wish.

Kopi Luwak:

It is a different kind of coffee, where they use the feces of small viverrids from South Asia to produce the coffee. Asian palm civet is a small viverrid that eats coffee cherries and the cherries ferment during digestion. Then Kopi Luwak farmers collect them. It is an exotic coffee with very high pricing.

Irish Coffee:

Irish coffee is a mixture of hot coffee, whiskey, and sugar. It is one of the most popular coffees in the world.

Indian filter coffee:

The South Indian filter coffee is popularly known as the Kaapi. In some parts of India, it is also referred to as Madras filter coffee, Madras Kaapi, Kumbakonam degree coffee, Mylapore filter coffee, or Mysore filter coffee. It is made by mixing frothed and boiled milk with the coffee decoction made by traditional Indian coffee filters.

Vienna Coffee:

Vienna coffee is made with two strong shots of espresso and topped with whipped cream.

Iced coffee:

It is a cold beverage, made with simple ingredients like coffee and ice. It can be made by brewing the coffee cold or normally by heating and then cooling. Regardless of the brewing method, iced coffee is generally brewed at a higher strength than normal coffee, due to the dilution caused by the ice.
